Kindergarten
Shaping Future Leaders
Young students possess a natural eagerness to explore God’s world, and Sycamore Christian Academy’s Kindergarten teachers intentionally nurture that sense of wonder and creativity. Within the classical Christian tradition, we guide children to delight in learning and to love the Lord, establishing a joyful and enduring foundation for their years at Sycamore Christian Academy.
The Kindergarten classroom is a warm, vibrant place where discovery is woven into each day. Students read rich stories, listen attentively, and narrate what they have learned—an essential early practice of classical learning. They engage in creative projects, build, paint, sing, memorize, and learn through movement and purposeful, hands-on activities. Kindergartners participate in art and music classes, as well as special celebrations and field trips that broaden their imagination. Themed days and shared experiences help bring lessons to life, allowing students to perceive God’s goodness, order, and beauty in every subject they study
-
Biblical truth is woven into every lesson and modeled throughout the day, forming a child’s character and rightly ordering their loves toward what is true, good, and beautiful. In this way, each subject becomes an avenue for discipleship, directing all learning toward the glory of God.

Our Kindergarteners are formed in the habit of loving neighbors by learning to honor the image of God in their teachers and classmates. In keeping with the classical Christian tradition, teachers faithfully pray with and for each child, guiding them toward virtue, empathy, and Christlike affection towards others and their broader community.

Partnership with parents is central to a classical Christian education. Scripture and tradition affirm that parents are a child’s first and primary teachers. Our program seeks to honor this calling by welcoming families into the life of the classroom. Parents are regularly invited to participate in lessons, celebrations, and special events, strengthening the home–school connection and uniting our efforts in the formation of each child’s heart and mind.
