Jr-Kindergarten
Building Strong Foundations
Young children possess a natural curiosity about the world around them. At Sycamore Christian Academy our Jr-Kindergarten program cultivates this curiosity and inspires a deep appreciation for God’s goodness for each student.
In a Christ-centered, loving environment, your child will engage in hands-on exploration, fostering a joy for discovery and intellectual growth. Our teachers create a classroom atmosphere rooted in respect, love, and grace, encouraging virtue alongside knowledge.
This formative and foundational program supports your child’s academic, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual development, all within a personalized, attentive setting—preparing them for success in kindergarten and beyond, while laying the groundwork for a lifetime of learning.

Our Jr-Kindergarteners will be guided to wonder at God’s handiwork permeating throughout creation through Scripture-rich lessons led by compassionate, Christ-like teachers. Rooted in the classical Christian tradition, our approach understands education as formation—shaping a child’s character, ordering their affections toward what is true, good, and beautiful, and directing all learning toward the glory of God

Our Jr-Kindergarteners are formed through intentional cultivation of virtue—kindness, courage, goodness, patience, forgiveness, self-control, and respect. In the classical Christian tradition, these early lessons in character shape both the mind and the heart. Our teachers pray with and for each child as they learn to build healthy relationships, grow in confidence, embrace orderly classroom routines, and strengthen both gross and fine motor skills. In this nurturing and disciplined environment, students are prepared not only for Kindergarten success but for a life of wisdom, virtue, and godliness.

Partnership with parents is central to a classical Christian education. Scripture and tradition affirm that parents are a child’s first and primary teachers. Our program seeks to honor this calling by welcoming families into the life of the classroom. Parents are regularly invited to participate in lessons, celebrations, and special events, strengthening the home–school connection and uniting our efforts in the formation of each child’s heart and mind.
